ASUS Fragrances the Tech World with Scented Mouse

In a move that's sure to raise eyebrows and tickle nostrils, ASUS has unveiled its peculiar "Fragrance Mouse" – a wireless peripheral that doubles as an essential oil diffuser. Set to arrive in US markets by late April or early May 2025, this aromatic accessory follows the company's previous foray into scented technology with its Adol 14 Air Fragrance Edition laptop.
The mouse features a discrete compartment on its underside that houses a refillable vial designed for aromatic oils. Available in two stylish finishes – Iridescent White and Rose Clay – the device maintains standard mouse functionality with two buttons, a scroll wheel, and three adjustable DPI settings (1200, 1600, and 2400).
Tech enthusiasts can connect via Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz wireless dongle, with ASUS claiming the single AA battery can power the mouse for up to a year. The company has also equipped the device with PTFE feet for smooth gliding and switches rated for 10 million clicks.
While pricing details remain under wraps, this peculiar peripheral represents ASUS's continued experimentation with multisensory computing experiences. Whether consumers will embrace the concept of scented computing accessories remains to be seen, but ASUS certainly deserves credit for thinking outside the box – and inside the nose.
