Arpa Studios Unveils Series 2 Fragrance Collection at Paris Fashion Week

Perfumer Barnabé Fillion's Arpa Studios has launched Sequence 2, a new fragrance collection showcasing three iris-based scents, during Paris Fashion Week Men's A/W 2025. The collection debuts with Kōsai, Piel, and Kapsel, each featuring distinct compositions housed in hand-blown glass bottles by designer Jochen Holz. The fragrances come encased in scented glycerin soap capsules, eschewing traditional diffusers for direct skin application.
Fillion, known for his 12-year collaboration with Aesop, draws inspiration from Japanese Metabolism, a post-war architectural movement. The collection's development involved collaboration with musician Philippe Hallais (Low Jack), who created a limited-edition flexi disc accompanying the release.
Arpa Studios, founded in 2020 as both a fragrance brand and research project exploring scent and synesthesia, plans to release additional fragrances throughout the year. The company will expand its physical presence with new locations in Paris and Kyoto in 2025.
The brand's innovative approach includes Kōsai's blend of yuzu and bergamot, Piel's combination of red shiso and jasmine, and Kapsel's resinous accord featuring hinoki leaves and vetiver root.
