ASUS Fragrance Laptop: A Laptop That Smells as Good as It Looks
Mar. 27, 2025 | Linda M. Sanabria

At CES 2025, ASUS unveiled the Adol 14 Air, a laptop that goes beyond typical technology by adding a fragrance diffuser to its sleek design. The new piece of fragrance technology is available exclusively in China for now.
A New Kind of Scented Computing
The fragrance diffuser is located on the laptop’s lid, distinguished by a quarter-sized disk. This module isn’t just for looks; it releases pleasant, subtle aromas into the air to create a more enjoyable environment as you work. To access the scent source, simply twist the module and reveal a tile-like disc embedded with fragrance.
ASUS offers a range of scent inserts for the Adol, including options like Be a New Her, The Way You Raise Me Up, Rose of Man’s Land, and Basil and Mandarin. For those who prefer a more personal touch, you can also add your own essential oils to refresh the scent.
The Adol 14 Air is an ultraportable powerhouse, boasting a 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display and the option for up to an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor. The laptop is available in striking colors like lavender, rose gold, and sage green, and even includes a velvet-lined travel case designed by fashion icon Anna Sui.
While the scent functionality is powered by passive heat from the laptop’s components, ASUS has cleverly designed it to emit fragrance subtly. If the scent starts to fade, simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to reinvigorate the disc.
The Future of Fragrance in Technology
Currently available only in China, the Adol 14 Air has not yet been confirmed for release in other markets. However, ASUS is gauging interest at CES and might consider a wider launch.
