Give Back Beauty (GBB) has announced its acquisition of AB Parfums, the beauty division of Italian conglomerate Angelini Industries, in a strategic move that significantly strengthens its European fragrance portfolio. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition includes all of AB Parfums' subsidiaries and assets, including ownership of Trussardi's fragrance category and licenses for Laura Biagiotti and Spanish brands Angel Schlesser and Armand Basi. AB Parfums also manages Italian distribution for major fragrance brands including Ralph Lauren, Maison Margiela, and Viktor & Rolf.
"AB Parfums will operate within the GBB group as a dedicated business unit for European lifestyle and prestige brands within the fragrance and beauty sectors," said GBB's founder and executive chairman Corrado Brondi. The deal expands GBB's direct-to-retail distribution network, particularly in key markets like Italy, Germany, and Spain.
The acquisition comes amid substantial growth for GBB, whose revenues have increased sevenfold in four years, from €42 million in 2020 to over €300 million in 2024. The company aims to exceed €400 million in revenue by 2025, with the AB Parfums acquisition playing a crucial role in reaching this target.
AB Parfums brings approximately 200 employees and nine European subsidiaries to GBB's existing structure of 400 employees across 14 international locations. The combined entity will enhance GBB's presence in the prestige fragrance market, complementing its existing portfolio which includes licenses for luxury brands such as Zegna, Elie Saab, and Chopard.
Sergio Marullo di Condojanni, CEO of Angelini Industries, explained the strategic rationale behind the sale: "Over the years, we have supported AB Parfums in consolidating and growing the company. However, today we believe that its potential can be truly expressed at its best within the context of GBB, a 'best-in-class' player in fragrances and beauty."
GBB plans to conduct a strategic analysis of AB Parfums' current product lines and brand portfolio in the coming months, with potential rationalization and new product launches on the horizon. The integration is expected to benefit both GBB's and AB Parfums' existing brands through the expanded distribution network, which now spans key markets across Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania.
