Tom Ford’s Bois Pacifique: A Woody Journey In Nature, Led by John David Washington
Mar. 27, 2025 | Rebecca Robin

Tom Ford has unveiled its latest fragrance, Bois Pacifique, with actor John David Washington as the face of the campaign. Set in the dramatic landscape of Big Sur, California, the campaign depicts Washington’s journey through the redwoods, symbolizing the essence of the fragrance—wild, free, and full of vitality.
Washington, known for his roles in BlacKkKlansman, Ballers, and Netflix’s The Piano Lesson, perfectly embodies the spirit of Bois Pacifique. Directed by British photographer David Sims, the campaign follows Washington through the rugged wilderness, capturing his connection to nature’s raw beauty and reflecting the fragrance’s untamed, masculine energy.
The scent itself is a powerful woody-spicy blend. Notes of sandalwood, cedar, and oakwood are paired with cardamom, akigalawood, and turmeric, creating a warm, spicy contrast to the cool, fresh woods. It’s designed to evoke a sense of freedom, with a feeling of sunlight cutting through the trees and an endless horizon in view.
More than just a fragrance, Bois Pacifique invites wearers to embrace a bigger world—one that connects them to the quiet strength of nature while offering the timeless vitality of the forest. The campaign’s closing line, “I came to see what lies beyond the woods,” sums up the fragrance’s essence: a quest for deeper connection with both the natural world and oneself.
Launched on January 21st, Bois Pacifique is now available.
